Brazilian Cherry, Eugenia uniflora, is an attractive evergreen fruiting shrub or small tree with glossy foliage, fragrant white flowers and bright ribbed fruit that ripen from orange-red to deep red or purple-black.

Also known as Surinam Cherry or Pitanga, it is ideal for edible hedging, screening, food forests, subtropical gardens, feature planting and wildlife-friendly gardens. Best grown in full sun to part shade in well-drained soil, it is hardy once established and can grow around 2–5m high depending on pruning and conditions.
