Multiple entries are allowed for different plants, with a limit of one entry per plant.

Entries will be judged by our expert panel based on plant health, overall results, and how helpful the growing tips are.

Ladybird Nursery 2026 Homegrown Plant Competition – Terms & Conditions

1. Promoter
The promoter is Ladybird Nursery (“the Promoter”).

2. Competition Period
The competition commences on 25 April 2026 and closes at 11:59pm AEST on 31 December 2026.

3. Eligibility

  • Entry is open to Australian residents only.
  • Entrants must be 18 years or older, or have permission from a parent or guardian.
  • Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.

4. Entry Requirements

To enter, participants must submit:

  • A photo of a plant they have personally grown, and
    growing tips related to that plant.
  • The plant does not need to have been purchased from Ladybird Nursery.
  • Entries must be the original work of the entrant.
  • The plant and photo must be owned and taken by the entrant.

5. Entry Details

  • Entries must be submitted in accordance with the instructions provided (see "How To Enter" section above).
  • Entrants may submit multiple entries; however, only one (1) entry per plant will be accepted.
  • Incomplete, late, or illegible entries may be deemed invalid.
  • The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries.

6. Judging & Prizes

Monthly Prize:

  • One (1) winner will be selected at random each calendar month during the competition period.
  • Each monthly winner will receive a $50 Ladybird Nursery gift card.

Category Prizes:

  • At the end of the competition, entries will be judged by a panel of experts.
  • One (1) winner will be selected for each category.
  • Each category winner will receive a $100 Ladybird Nursery gift card.

Prize Delivery:

Prizes will be sent to winners via email using the email address provided at entry.

Judging Criteria:

Category winners will be judged based on:

  • Plant health and overall results
  • How clearly the plant is shown
  • The helpfulness and quality of the growing tips provided

The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

7. Winner Notification & Publication

  • Winners will be announced on the Promoter’s Facebook page and website.
  • Winners may also be contacted directly using the details provided at entry.
  • If a winner cannot be contacted or does not claim their prize within a reasonable timeframe, the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner.

8. Public Display of Entries

  • By entering, entrants acknowledge and agree that all valid entries may be displayed publicly on the Promoter’s website.
  • This may include the entrant’s name, submitted photo(s), and plant descriptions (including growing tips).
  • Entrants consent to this information being published for public viewing.
  • Being featured on our website is for showcase purposes only and does not indicate a winning entry.

9. Intellectual Property & Use of Entries

  • By entering, entrants assign, to the extent permitted by law, all rights, title, and interest in all intellectual property (including copyright) in their submitted photos, text, and any other content to the Promoter.
  • All ownership and rights in submitted content will pass to the Promoter upon submission.
  • The Promoter may use, reproduce, edit, publish, and communicate this content for any purpose, including purposes outside of the competition, at its discretion.
  • This includes (but is not limited to) use in marketing, advertising, website content, social media, and product pages, without further consent or compensation.
  • Entrants consent to the Promoter using their name and submitted content for promotional purposes.

10. Privacy

  • Entrants may be required to provide an email address when submitting an entry.
  • Email addresses will not be displayed publicly on the website.
  • Email addresses will be used only for the purpose of contacting winners and administering prize delivery.
  • Email addresses will not be used for marketing purposes, will not be used for any other purpose, and will not be shared with any third party.
  • Personal information will otherwise be handled in accordance with the Promoter’s privacy policy.

11. General Conditions

  • The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is deemed inappropriate, misleading, or not in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.
  • The Promoter reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the competition if necessary.
  • The Promoter reserves the right to remove or refuse to publish any submitted content at its discretion.
  • The Promoter is not responsible for any technical issues, lost, late, or misdirected entries.
  • Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash.

12. Liability

The Promoter is not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury suffered or sustained in connection with the competition or prizes, except for liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. User Content Responsibility

  • Entrants are solely responsible for ensuring they have the rights to submit all content.
  • The Promoter will not be liable for any loss, damage, or claims arising from the publication of content submitted by entrants, including where such content is submitted in error or infringes the rights of any third party.
  • The Promoter reserves the right to remove any content at its discretion.

14. Governing Law

  • These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
  • Entrants submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.

This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook.
