Seaberry Saltbush (Rhagodia candolleana)

Seaberry Saltbush (Rhagodia candolleana), also known as Beautiful Saltbush, is a hardy Australian native shrub with silvery-green foliage and small red to purple berries. It is a traditional bush tucker plant, with both the berries and young leaves eaten by Aboriginal Australians. The berries have a mild, salty flavour with a slightly sweet finish when ripe, while the leaves can be eaten raw or cooked and have a naturally salty taste. Highly tolerant of coastal conditions, drought and poor soils, it suits coastal gardens, low hedging and wildlife-friendly landscapes, providing year-round structure and texture.
