Salak Malay (Salacca glabrescens) is a distinctive tropical palm prized for its bold, spiny foliage and sweet, edible snake fruit. This clumping palm thrives in warm, humid conditions and prefers filtered light to part shade with well-drained soil. Over time, it forms a dense, architectural feature in the garden and may produce attractive reddish-brown fruit once mature.

This species is dioecious, with male and female flowers on separate plants. As plants are supplied at a juvenile stage, sex cannot be determined; planting multiple specimens improves the chance of future fruiting.

Supplied in a 140 mm pot. Current plant height is approximately 20–30 cm.
