Mango ‘Carabao’ (Philippines Mango / Manila Mango)

The Carabao mango (also known as the Philippine or Manila mango) is world-famous for its exceptional sweetness and has been recognised by Guinness World Records as the sweetest mango variety. This grafted tropical tree typically grows 4–6 metres high and 3–4 metres wide, but can get slightly taller in the ground under the most optimal conditions and can also be kept smaller with regular pruning, making it suitable for home gardens. It performs best in full sun and well-drained soil, with regular watering during establishment and warmer months, then moderate watering once mature. The fruit has smooth, buttery, fibre-free flesh, an intense sweetness, and a fragrant aroma, making it highly prized for fresh eating.
