Japanese Wisteria ‘Royal Purple’ (Wisteria floribunda) is a deciduous climber celebrated for its spectacular, long clusters of deep purple, fragrant flowers that bloom in late spring to early summer. It has a vigorous, twining habit, reaching 6–10 m high, making it ideal for pergolas, arbours, fences, or walls. Thrives in full sun with well-drained soil, and benefits from regular pruning to maintain shape and encourage prolific flowering. Its lush foliage provides seasonal shade before turning yellow in autumn.
