Black Passionfruit

Black passionfruit (Passiflora edulis) is a vigorous climbing vine known for its dark purple to nearly black fruit, which has a sweet-tart, aromatic pulp. The plant thrives in tropical and subtropical climates, requiring well-drained soil and full sun to grow optimally. It produces beautiful, intricate white and purple flowers, followed by round fruits packed with seeds encased in juicy pulp. Black passionfruit is often enjoyed fresh, in juices, or desserts, and is rich in vitamins A and C. The vine benefits from regular pruning and support structures, such as a trellis, to manage its growth and fruit production.
