Black Sapote - Maher (Dwarf)

A very large fruit, flattened at both ends and with only a few seeds. A small tree to only 3-4 meters, it is a prolific bearer of very high quality fruit. Some say Maher is the best tasting variety of Black Sapote, with the most chocolatey flavour. Closely related to the Persimmon this attractive glossy foliaged tree produces a fruit often called the 'Chocolate Pudding Fruit'. Delicious when eaten as a desert with ice-cream, and a touch of Rum or vanilla.
