Star Apple ‘Tear Drop’ (Chrysophyllum cainito), also known as Caimito or Milk Fruit, is a tropical evergreen from the Caribbean and Central America. It grows around 6–8 metres tall and 4–6 metres wide but can be kept to 3–4 metres with light pruning. The purple tear drop-shaped fruit has sweet, milky-white flesh with a star pattern inside. Plant in full sun in well-drained soil and water regularly while establishing, then moderately once mature.
