Theobroma bicolor, commonly known as Mocambo,Jaguar Cacao, or "White Chocolate Tree", is a rare tropical fruit tree related to cacao, valued for its striking foliage and large, yellow-orange pod-like fruits. It can grow up to 5–8 metres in cultivation, with a spreading canopy and glossy, deeply veined leaves that give it a lush, ornamental appearance. Mocambo thrives in warm, humid climates, preferring partial shade to full sun and rich, well-draining soil. The sweet, edible pulp inside its pods is prized in parts of Central and South America, while the seeds are sometimes used similarly to cacao. A unique and lesser-known species, it’s ideal for collectors and permaculture enthusiasts alike.
Supplied in a 160mm to 200mm pot.
